what does low battery sign mean when playing music in my volvo xc60?

When I am playing music on my volvo xc60 2013, a low battery sign shows on the dashboard with a warning sign and switches off in 2 minutes. It does not show on when engine is on or driving.

It means that your radio is lowering the battery voltage, if ignored it may not have enough power to start the car. When the engine is running the alternator keeps the battery charged.

Hi so what does it mean. you have to stop being mean and buy a new car battery.

It means the electric components that you are using to play the music (speakers, etc.) are using more electricity than you should be using without the engine running, and they are draining the battery. If you do this for too long, then the car won't start.

Could be your battery is marginal and about due for replacement if this happens soon after turning on the radio. A healthy battery will allow you to play the radio for an hour or more without problem.

It's a safety issue to make sure you don't drain the battery by leaving the radio on.

You're playing the radio too much with the motor off and like it says the battery charge is getting too low. When the starter motor doesn't work don't say you were not warned.

It means START the engine, and preferably drive around for half an hour or more.

You have used up the Store in the battery, the shut down is to protect the ability to start the engine.

Consult your owner's manual. Could mean the battery charge is getting low. Avoid using your stereo or other accessories when the engine is not running. You are shortening the life of the battery and the alternator.

When you have the electrical system running in the car but the motor isn't running, the alternator isn't running either. The car is telling you the battery isn't getting charged.

I don't know how Volvos work, but most cars, you turn the key 1 click and that's 'Accessories' (or 'Acc'). Then turn it again and that is engine-on. If you're just listening to the radio you should have it turned only one click, to Acc. Usually the gages don't work then and that light won't come on.
