They use a special BOOK to determine the LABOR TIMES>>>>and most shops charge as MUCH as THEY CAN! From $100 to 150 or so per HOUR! IF you have a SPECIFIC type of repair in mind, PLEASE GIVE MORE INFO! Use ONLY PENNZOIL ULTRA EURO oil that gives an AMAZING 500,000 mile extended ENGINE WARRANTY! If you EVER used VALVOLINE or other WAX BASED OILS you will need a TOTAL DE SLIDGE treatment done! KEEP your engien CLEAN at ALL TIMES with frequent WASHINGS under the HOOD and a can of GUNK ORANGE ORIGINAL engine cleaner! GET only FUEL SAVING GREEN tires like MICHELIN HARMONY or CONTINENTAL ro YOKOHAMA tires!... CHEECK COOLANT LEVEL every MONTH as you MAY need a WATER PUMP/TIMING belt kit install! Teh USUAL fee for this at shops is about $500! GOOD LUCK and BE MORE SPECIFIC with your questions PLEASE!

You need to re-phrase the question. What model, which engine, how many miles does the car have etc? Personally my 2013 Volvo V40 D2 costs me very little. It has 96,000 miles, has never had a serious issue. Once the battery went flat in the key fob, I've replaced tyres and brakes due to wear, servicing is about £200-400 depending on the service and where I take it. It is entirely in working order. Given that I now WFH and add very few miles to it, I will probably keep it a few more years.

My other car a 2012 XC60 D3, has likewise cost very little in terms of servicing and repair. It did have an issue with a congested DPF filter in 2017 but it had a chemical clean and has run fine ever since. Servicing is again £200-£400.

This is a super dumb question. Typical cost would be the shops going rate and parts, just like any kind of car repair cost.
