well, if worst comes to worst u can format your hard drive. Go into safe mode and burn any files u want to keep or that are important on a CD. Then, put your windows CD in, and restart your computer. It'll ask u to "press any key to boot from CD" Do this, and then format your hard drive. NOTE: formatting will erase everything on your computer so make sure u don't have anything important left on there. After u format it will prompt u to reinstall windows. Do this and your computer will be like its brand new.

Source(s): after formattnig u will probably have to reinstall ure video drivers, network drivers, and anything else that isn't "plug and play" so have all of ure CDs available that came with ure hardware for ure computer. IF u lost ur cds, as long as u can get ure internet to work, u should be able to download any drivers that u need. Just check your control panel>system> device management to look for any yellow exclamations next to your devices, and install the drivers for them as needed.

is it an Hp computer?( their horrible don't buy an hp computer next time)

well anyway you can try reformating the computer go to the C: drive right click and click format, go through the steps( i don't reformat my computer everyday)

get a windows XP/ Vista/ 2000/98/95/7 disk and put it into the CD ROM

    follow the step

you will install a new operating system with absolutly nothing in it

PS. you will lose everything within your computer so i suggest backing up all the data

if you have an any service pack 2 cd. Go into safe mode and burn any files u want to keep or that are important on a CD. Then, put your service pack 2 CD in, and restart your computer. It'll ask u to "press any key to boot from CD" after that it will ask for "To install press enter", & after that press F8 to agree licence agreement. then you can see two options they are to customize press Esc & to repair press 'R' then select the repair option it will solve your problem.ok bye

Try to start it with "last known good configuration" or this may be just an software issue. Click on Start -> Run -> Type "msconfig" -> msconfig here in General Tab Uncheck Safe boot. and then restart.

Best way backup your data, you said that it works in safe mode so you can back up your data through safe mode and format your pc.

This will reinstall all setting and your pc will work normally.
