help with burning slideshow/lightscribe?

i am making a slideshow and going to burn it onto a disc. i have DVD-R with lightscribe. when i insert it and click copy, it says the CD is not writable. do i have the wrong hardware? The store i bought them off of said they would work with a slideshow presentation. i have microsoft 2007 if that helps. do i have to change the format of the files or is it the wrong discs?

    check ur cd.maybe it is have been used before
