I am reaching ooty on 28/09/09 and want to visit local attractions.?

I am reaching Ooty on 28/09/09. I want to see locat attractions. Which transportation is economical and how much its cost ? My onwards train is from Coimbtore (CBE) on 2000 Hrs. Is local bus is comfortable and economical ? What are other transportation and their cost ? What are timings and travel time ? When I leave Ooty ?

    Since you wish to cover the Ooty trip within a day, please leave Coimbatore early in the morning. It takes 3hrs and 15 min to reach Ooty. Engage an auto with a package deal covering Botonical Garden, Doddabetta and Lake. Since you have to catch the train from Cbe at 20 hours, you have to leave Ooty before 16.00 hrs. The autowala may charge around 200 rs and the bus fare will come to Rs 100.

    Local must be economical but not comfortable....better try to take some private buses or stay in coimbtore and take a good bus in the morning. If you are noy money cautious take a local taxi from coimbatore and see all the places in one day and can come back to CBE on the same day...It cost you around 8000 for the whole day....
