Landlord setting off flea bomb in apartment?
Our apartment landlord is coming into our apartment to bomb for fleas...the apartment downstairs was infested with fleas and so the whole building is being bombed for them. I am not at all thrilled with this for several reasons...one, we have animals that I don’t want exposed to the poisons (we will keep them out for a few days). Two, I don't like poisons of any kind because I have reactions to a lot of this stuff and I don't want it on my bedding and clothing and all that stuff. Knowing me I will end up taking all my clothes and everything out of the apartment. Can the landlords force us to have this done?
BTW we live in Washington State.

Sounds like you have a flea infestation. They are trying to get rid of the problem.
Ask them if you can take care of them your self. Here is a great method that we found to work well. It was for white fly`s then we found out it works real well on fleas too.
Take one gallon of water place on stove to a boil. Add one cup of lemon juice. Then take 2 cigarettes apart and place the tobacco into the boiling water along with the lemon juice. Let boil for a few minutes. Take off stove and let cool. Strain the contents into a hydro sprayer then spray the entire area. Works great.

Landlords can be compelled to get rid of a flea infestation, just one tenant needs complain to force them to do so.
The options open to the landlord could include burning the building down, but until you offer a solution that actually works, satisfies all tenants, and most importantly satisfies you too, you can not stop the landlord from doing what the landlord can be compelled to do.
You will find some non-toxic insect control measures, but do not wait until the landlord is compelled to take immediate action before you use them.

Yes, and really you want it done. If the apartment downstairs from you had fleas, then there is a good chance they could have gotten into your apartment.
I would leave your clothes and bedding in the apartment so it gets treated then wash it before using it again. It is better to be safe then sorry and have to go through all of this again.
