the boot cd will do nothing but?

give me a mssg box that sais your version of xp is newer- and won't let me do any thing else- at all

Update:

I finally used a nerd who found a bad and replaced the sound card loaded xp- so I am good now- ty all

    Since your current version XP is newer, restart the PC (make sure the first boot is from CD), in the monitor will appear "Press any key too boot from CD". Press & just follow the instruction

    When booting go to bios.

    Go through all the options until you see

    First boot device

    Second boot device

    etc

    make sure boot off cd is before boot off hdd.

    Should be good to go then.

    Booting different from auto run. You have Auto run the cd in window mode so you get this message.

    Follow the steps as yap_jp told. It will work.
