  I can’t afford art school what should I do?

  Hello, my name is Eren Castro and I am worried I won’t be a successful artist if I don’t go to a good art school. I already have a pretty good art portfolio, but the problem is paying off the school. Art schools cost around as much as a brand new car and my parents struggle to pay that. I don’t wanna end up with massive student debt, especially when art schools don’t guarantee a career after graduating. I’ve been planing to attend at UT Austin for a BFA, but I feel like It won’t have the best opportunities or connections like It would in a art school in NY or LA. I know that you don’t need to go to an art school to be a successful artist, but it helps you a lot when it comes to getting into the right direction. I want to become an contemporary artist, but I feel like I would have better chance of getting in that if I went to a good art institution. Please help and thank you.

  Can pornography be considered art?

  This is a more difficult question than it seems on its surface.

  First, we'd have to agree on what defines pornography. Is it simply the visual representation of the human body? Does it have to include genitalia, or is bared breasts or butts sufficient? Does the answer change if viewed in profile? Does it have to include a graphic sexual act? How much of that act has to be visible?

  Because I vividly remember laughing hard at my state's ban on magazine displays showing buttocks, demanding that such porn be kept behind the counter, available only to customers who asked for it and could prove they were legal adults, and the very next issue of Time magazine cover showed a soldier in Vietnam carrying a naked child whose butt showed fully. Places that sold magazines ignored the law.

  Most porn, however we might agree to define it, is not art, but there are graphic depictions of bodies and sexual acts that are clearly art, in museums all over the world.

  Aren't gray and silver mostly and basically the same color?

  Since the RGB computer color model was introduced, with 256 million colors - and even before - the names of colors have become less and less important unless you are painting a house. It has become 0,0,0 to 255,255,255 and everything in between. But yes, "silver" is a grey with lots of white in it. Actual pure, metallic silver is almost pure white.
