It feels like drowning in a sea of mucous.

My son had pneumonia when he was only 2 years old.  It was a very frightening time.  I can't imagine what it must have felt like to such a small child.  That was over 40 years ago and he's now a big, strong man, whom I thought I was going to lose.

So is death, yet no one knows what it feels like.

Except for a few of us, and that's all I will say.

Drowning isn't so bad, but systemic inability to breathe is not pretty,  or fast.

There is an infection within the lungs,

    Its hard to swallow.

    Have trouble breathing.

    Chest pains come and go.

    Sweating a lot.

Sounds escape the body from chest or throat.

    Chills

    Fever

However there are other types of penumonia

    Pneumococcal

    Staphylococcal

    Gram-negative Bacterial

    Legionella pneuophila

    Atypical

    Viral

    Fungal

    Pneumocystis

    Aspiration

Dunno. Noone who has died in that manner has ever had much to say about the experience
