which one is better laser or inkjet printer?

Update:

on a  budget

Update 2:

Pearl L, if I had the option to buy and use both, would I even ask this question.

Update 3:

just bought a monochrome all-in-one laser printer. I hope this is as good as everyone says. The toner is 25$ and says it lasts 1200 pages. let's see how this goes.

Inkjet printers are better at printing photos and color documents, and while there are color laser printers, they're more expensive. Unlike inkjet printers, laser printers don't use ink. Instead, they use toner — which lasts much longer. The trade-off is that laser printers are generally more expensive

A laser is better.   With an Ink Jet you are always wasting ink.  Everything you turn it on, it goes through a cleaning process wasting ink. If you don't print often the Ink Drys out and then you have to replace it.  Ink is very expensive.  Then there is the Print Head Replacement.

Lasers are much better by far. No Ink to dry out.

Inkjet printer is better for a budget. Laser printer offers crisp black and white printing. For photo printing, inkjet printer is better.

Better for what? High volume, Laser wins, hands down. For photo printing, Inkjet wins. For someone who uses a printer once a month, inkjet will dry up before you get much out of a cartridge. If you only print black and white, Laser wins again.
