Many women are able to carry pregnancies after age 35 and beyond. However, there are certain risks — for both mother and baby — that tend to increase with maternal age. Infertility. It may take longer to get pregnant as you get closer to menopause.

By the time you actually find someone, get in a serious relationship and would be ready to have a child - you will probably be too old.
You are already in the high risk bracket for birth defects and fertility issues.
You are not too old to have another relationship and another marriage. But having another child is something you would need to carefully consider and have a serious conversation with your doctor about the risks.

You are over 40, but yet need to ask this question on YA??? Really??

Discuss it with your doctor, although i'm hard pressed to believe a forty-three year old woman would come here to ask this question.

By the time you find a committed partner and conceive, you're realistically looking at being 45 before the child is born, assuming you are able to conceive easily. There is also a higher chance of birth defects in a later life pregnancy. Think about why you want a child. Do you have the energy to chase a toddler when you're 48? Men in your age bracket are usually looking forward to having raised their kids and are moving on to the next chapter in their lives. There are exceptions, of course. Then there's the issue of being much older than your child's friends parents.

Women even before 40 years old can get menopause. If you have periods I suppose you can still get pregnant
