What happens to my baggage in connecting flight ?

I’m flying from Dubai to Bangkok via Mumbai from one airline operator and getting another immediately flight to go Cambodia (different flight operator)

Will this mean that I would have to go through Thailand immigration ( actually pay and get the visa on arrival to get the bags) just to recheck in to fly out to Cambodia ??

It depends on the airlines you are flying. If the airlines have a baggage agreement, then your bags should transfer to your final destination. If you are flying discount airlines, many times they do not have baggage agreements with other airlines. Therefore you would have to pick up your bags and then re-check them with the other airline you are flying. You can call the airline you are flying with or wait until the day of your flight and ask them where you will pick up your luggage.

ASK the ticket agent when you check in for the first flight what will happen. If the two different airlines have an interline baggage agreement, then the bags will transfer automatically. If not, you will probably have to claim them and recheck them with the next airline.

We cannot tell you for certain, so you need to ASK.
