I would certainly hope if there is a God that God is Good. That is where the word comes from. Religion, on the other hand seems to teach some very bad things about God.

God is neither good or bad. God is an invention of people that need to there is a non-corporeal being that can fill a hole in their lives and make them feel better about themselves.
If he were real, where does he live? What does he look like?
Well, he looks like you want him to. And, he lives in all of us. Typical answer from ignorant people that don't require proof and answer any question they can't answer with "You have to have Faith".

No, I don't agree. If you live in a bad region, I am sorry. I hope that life gets better for you.

No. God is the invention of religion - a metaphorical entity with whatever characteristics they choose to give it.
It is too sweeping a statement to say 'all religion is bad'. Some needy, insecure people benefit from the comfort blanket of religion while others enjoy the power it gives them over 'the flock'.
On the other hand, since all religions make up their own dogma and since they all disagree with each other, they can only create division or enforce compliance. Both are immoral.
Luckily religious dogma is not required to live a good and moral life. Morals are a social construct and have nothing to do with religion or make-believe gods.

If your region is bad and you believe in god, wouldn't that be god's fault?
Sorry, I was just being a jerk. All that we know about "god" comes from religion, so if evil people use god for their purposes and god allows it, why should god be off the hook?
I run a business, and I figure that anything I allow is my fault. Should I apply a lessor standard for a perfect god?

No, I call the universe God. It isn't black and white, just hot and cold energy. You misspelled religion, but I understood. Religion is the opiate of the masses, and sometimes it clouds people's judgement as much if not a lot more than actual opiates.

I only agree with half.
1. Religion is bad.
2. God does not exist. Therefore, it isn't good or bad.

Depends on which God you mean, and which region (some regions are very nice).

Not at all.
God is no more than a lie to control other people. Relilgion is another such tool, which takes advantage of the god delusion to survive, and become wealthy.
God is about power for preachers, free money, and a pretend enforcer who 'watches' you from inside your own mind to be sure you don't "sin".
God is simply a deception used to hold humanity for ransom.
