What is the symptom of a person who loves God?

The secondary symptoms, viz., non-violence by following the commandment of God not to kill animals to eat or for any other purpose, charity to the needy, moral behaviours and so on can also be given as the symptom of loving God.

But, primary symptom of loving God as revealed in the sacred scriptures, viz., bible, torah, koran, vedas, puranas and so on, is most welcome.

Update:

Primary symptom is that which is always existing.

Secondary symtom is that which is sometimes visible and sometimes not.

Update 2:

1) Offering gifts in charity,

2) accepting charitable gifts,

3) revealing one's mind in confidence,

4) inquiring confidentially,

5) accepting prasāda and

6) offering prasāda

are the six symptoms of love shared by one devotee and another.

Update 3:

Symptom of love means when one is eager to render some service to the beloved Lord. That is love

Update 4:

So we can discuss about the greatness of God, but next stage is that "God is so great, why not let me render some service unto the Supreme, the great?" That is one step forward. Simply to know "God is great and I am engaged in my own occupational duty," there is no symptom of love. Symptom of love means when one is eager to render some service to the beloved. That is love. Simply I love you and you love me, formality, but there is no service, that is not real love. Real love begins as it is stated in the śāstra, dadāti pratigṛhṇāti: to give something to the lover, to the beloved, and to take something. Dadāti pratigṛhṇāti bhuṅkte bhojayate: to accept some eatables from your beloved, and offer him something for eating. Bhuṅkte bhojayate. Guhyam ākhyāti pṛcchati. And you disclose your mind; there is no secrecy between the lover and the beloved. And the other party also discloses. In this way, love becomes manifest. And our business in this human life, as recommended b

Update 5:

Jesus Christ also exhibited the symptoms of love of God. This is seen, when he was crucifed on the cross. He was praying to God forgive the very persons who were crucifying him on the cross. He told God that they don't know what they are doing and thus asked to forgive their mistake and not punish them for their mistake. This is no doubt a symptom of love of God.

Update 6:

The statement of the Bible, "But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God is perfected. By this we know that we are in Him." This is very true that one loves of God will follow the instructions of God.

Update 7:

Lord Jesus Christ, the son of God, could influence everyone by the power of love of God he possessed.

When he was passing a certain impious lady touched his garment that was unnoticed by anyone, Lord Jesus Christ turned around and told the lady that her faith alone saved her and she had become fortunate by the grace of God.

Because of love of God, Jesus Christ could pray to God to save the very persons who were crucifying him on the cross. He prayed, "O God, please don't punish them. They don't know what they are doing. Please forgive them". Such a compssion and tolerance due to love of God. Indeed, he suffered for the sins of others and died on the cross taking upon him their sins. Ofcourse, he was resurrected on the third day by God, the allmighty.

Update 8:

Similar to Jesus Vauseva, out of love of God, expressed his compassionate feelings for sinful persons.

Vasudeva Datta told Caitanya Mahaprabhu, “My dear Lord, You incarnate just to deliver all conditioned souls. I now have one petition, which I wish You would accept.

CC Madhya 15.161 — “My Lord, You are certainly able to do whatever You like, and You are indeed merciful. If You so desire, You can very easily do whatever You want.

CC Madhya 15.162 — “My Lord, my heart breaks to see the sufferings of all the conditioned souls; therefore I request You to transfer the karma of their sinful lives upon my head.

CC Madhya 15.163 — “My dear Lord, let me suffer perpetually in a hellish condition, accepting all the sinful reactions of all living entities. Please finish their diseased material life.”

Update 9:

Wild animals, such as tigers become friendly towards mild animals such as deers, due to the influence of love of God.

When the Lord passed through the solitary forest chanting the holy name of Krsna, the tigers and elephants, seeing Him, gave way.

CC Madhya 17.26 — When the Lord passed through the jungle in great ecstasy, packs of tigers, elephants, rhinoceros and boars came, and the Lord passed right through them.

CC Madhya 17.27 — Balabhadra Bhattacarya was very much afraid to see them, but by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s influence, all the animals stood to one side.

CC Madhya 17.28 — One day a tiger was lying on the path, and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, walking along the path in ecstatic love, touched the tiger with His feet.

CC Madhya 17.29 — The Lord said, “Chant the holy name of Krsna!” The tiger immediately got up and began to dance and to chant “Krsna! Krsna!”

CC Madhya 17.30 — Another day, while Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was bathing in a river, a herd of maddened elephants

Update 10:

A glimpse of the symptom of love of God is given by Nammazvar and Sri Chaitanya mahaprabhu displayed such symptoms of love of God that no one has ever shown.

On an autumn evening when the moon was full, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu walked along the seashore near the Aitota temple. Mistaking the sea for the Yamuna River, He jumped into it, hoping to see the water pastimes Krsna enjoyed with Srimati Radharani and the other gopis. As He floated in the sea, however, He was washed away to the Konarka temple, where a fisherman, thinking that the Lord’s body was a big fish, caught Him in his net and brought Him ashore. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was unconscious, and His body had become unusually transformed. As soon as the fisherman touched the Lord’s body, he became mad in ecstatic love of Krsna. His own madness frightened him, however, because he thought that he was being haunted by a ghost. As he was about to seek a ghost charmer, he met Svarupa Damodara Gosvami and the other devotees on the beac

Update 11:

In the beginning there is fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom.

In the little advanced stage, one is not afraid of God, but performs his duty giving up impious life.

In the most advanced stage, one does not fear God, nor does he mechanically does his duty, but loves God for the sake of love and it is unconditional, unmotivated and uninterrupted.

Update 12:

'keeps His Word' is the symptom of love.

Of course in the neophyte stage one 'keeps His Word' out of fear of God,

A little advanced stage is when one 'keeps His Word' out of duty toward God, rather than fear,

The topmost stage is when one 'keeps His Word' out of pure love, only love, not by fear

One cannot say that I love God, but not keep God's Word.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23 meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

1Jo 2:3 And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commandments.

1Jo 2:4 He who says, I have known Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1Jo 2:5 But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God is perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.

After "autopsy" of my "infatuation", I am not so well placed to answer this question......I would try though.

Perhaps, one would shed DAMBHA, DARPA, ABHIMAN and inculcate ABHAYA, SATVA, SANSHUDDHI etc. and soon people may run away from such person, for this may be contiguous disease thus complicating further diagnosis.

There may also be some parallax of vision and one may start seeing whole existence in-separate.

Secondary symptoms are already expressed here by you.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna states how does the person who loves God truly, behaves, what are the symptoms by which others can see and follow in his footsteps.....

One who is not disturbed in spite of the threefold miseries, who is not elated when there is happiness, and who is free from attachment, fear and anger, is called a sage of steady mind.

A person is said to be established in self-realization and is called a yogi [or mystic] when he is fully satisfied by virtue of acquired knowledge and realization. Such a person is situated in transcendence and is self-controlled. He sees everything--whether it be pebbles, stones or gold--as the same.

The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater [outcaste].

A person is said to be still further advanced when he regards all--the honest well-wisher, friends and enemies, the envious, the pious, the sinner and those who are indifferent and impartial--with an equal mind.

One who is not envious but who is a kind friend to all living entities, who does not think himself a proprietor (a doer), who is free from false ego and equal both in happiness and distress.

He is always satisfied and engaged in devotional service with determination and whose mind and intelligence are in agreement with Me--he is very dear to Me.

He knows that that all living beings are but part of God--and that they are in Him, and are His.

He sees God everywhere and sees everything in God.

He for whom no one is put into difficulty and who is not disturbed by anxiety, who is steady in happiness and distress, is very dear to Me.

One who neither grasps pleasure or grief, who neither laments nor desires, and who renounces both auspicious and inauspicious things, is very dear to Me.

    And lastly...

One can understand the Supreme Personality as He is only by devotional service. And when one is in full consciousness of the Supreme Lord by such devotion, he can enter into the kingdom of God.

Our body is the temple of God.

When we love God we keep our

body and mind clean daily morning

by a good bath and prayer.

A person who loves God cannot be like a God.

Loving the visible is the symptom of loving the invisible God.

The seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit come to mind for me (as a Catholic): Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.

The link below expounds on each, stating beforehand, "The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are enumerated in Isaiah 11:2-3. They are present in their fullness in Jesus Christ but are found in all Christians who are in a state of grace. We receive them when we are infused with sanctifying grace, the life of God within us—as, for example, when we receive a sacrament worthily. As the current Catechism of the Catholic Church notes, "They complete and perfect the virtues of those who receive them." Infused with His gifts, we respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit as if by instinct, the way Christ Himself would."

I hope that helps. Happy new year!

He should be peaceful, loving and seeing God in everyone and everything. See God in himself. Should be ready to help others especially when they are in need.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Fearlessness; purification of one's existence; cultivation of spiritual knowledge; charity; self-control; performance of sacrifice; study of the Vedas; austerity; simplicity; nonviolence; truthfulness; freedom from anger; renunciation; tranquillity; aversion to faultfinding; compassion for all living entities; freedom from covetousness; gentleness; modesty; steady determination; vigor; forgiveness; fortitude; cleanliness; and freedom from envy and from the passion for honor — these transcendental qualities, O son of Bharata, belong to godly men endowed with divine nature.

Nammalwar is the greatest example for extreme love of God. Para bakthi, paragnana and parama bakthi.

Alwar in "Kangulum and pagalum" pathigam presents the songs as Mothers songs. Due to his love in the brink he could not sing directly or as nayaki. He is literally crying to be with Tiruvaranga.

O Lord of Tiruvarangam reclining on fish-dancing waters, what have you done to my girl? She knows no sleep through night and day, she doles out tears by the handfull. She folds her hands, and says "discus", then "lotus-Lord", and swoons. "How can I live without you?", she weeps then feels the Earth
