WMP 12 will not play .avi files?

i have done everything in the world possible to play these files and they wont play. they did for a litttle bit then nothing. i went through my PC and started to delete programs that werent used and i erased all the restore points. i have downloaded every codec pack i could find and nothing. VLC player wont play them. help help help. i used gspot to find out what codec was used and of course the codec was unknown...big freakin surprise. every player i got wont recognize it. i got 2 file converters that wont recognize them either. WTF is going on?

and to make things way beyond interesting... when i go to this site:

http://www.mediaconverter.org/

it asks me to specify the file, then when the file folder opens up all a sudden i can play the videos in WMP 12 but only through this sites uploader? this is the most f'd up thing i ever came across in my life. help me please !

    There might be only one reason for this and that is,the person who encoded the video might not have encoded the video properly.So only this is happening.Rarely some players might be able to play these types of files.Have u tried playing the file with GOM player?Its worth a try.

    If u are so desperate to see that video then get it from some other link.If u aren't able to find that video then mail me the name of the video and also its description.I will try to find it for u.I'm good at searching through internet,helped lot of my friends with similar issues.

    The deleted avi video records at the prompt are not recovered suitable via recuva, that is why domicile windows media participant can not open the report. think about to apply yet another records restore software to get well lower back the records on your domicile windows pc. recommended asoftech records restore that helped me previously.

    wmp sucks..

    get vlc player..it will play ANY FILE and its open source so its the best

    plus its free
