WMP 12 wont play .avi anymore?
All a sudden WMP 12 (Windows 7) will not play my .avi videos? it played the other day and now nothing. i downloaded and then erased every codec pack i could find and still nothing? anybody have any ideas on what to do here?
i tried the klite, media player, cccp, xvid and divx codec packs and nothing.
I deleted all my restore points before i noticed they would not play anymore so thats out of the question unless someone knows how to recover them which i am almost positive you can't do anyways.

Go for VLC media player. It has small footprint, plays almost all types of videos and is open source.

I think your WMP12 is corrupted by possible virus attack.I am not sure whether you can install a fresh copy of WMP12.
