I spilt water on my laptop...please help... :-s?
My mum has accidentally spilt a whole JUG of water on it while it was TURNED ON... :"(
She has unplugged it thinking that it'll cut off the power (She's not familiar with laptops)....But since it didn't do anything she screamed out for me...
By the time I'm back the screen was going off and showing static continuesly.... :-<
Even I couldn't turn it off by pressing on the power button so I immediately took off the battery..And turned it over ...
I'm still holding it upside down and drying it with a dryer.... :(
I don't think my laptop (Lenovo Ideapad G560) is spill resistant.. :-s
What should I do? Can anyone tell me how to dissemble Lenovo g560 please?
Please help....8"(
I manage to make it face the fan while it still half way upside down... (Fingers crossed... :-s )

The best thing you can do now is give it time.
Leave the battery out, get a screw driver and remove the covers on the bottom of the machine and take out the hard disk and memory and anything else you can easily remove.
Then put your laptop in an airing cupboard or somewhere warm and dry (not too hot like on a radiator)
Then wait at least a day or two to make sure it's dry.
Then put it back together and switch it on while crossing your fingers.
The good news is that it was water and not something sticky.
Good Luck

Stop using the hairdryer - it can cause some plastic parts to be damaged. There is a good chance that your laptop can be restored to full working order.
First ensure that as much water as possible is removed by pouring it out. The screen is the part most sensitive to water damage so try to avoid bringing more water into that area as you drain the laptop. Once you have all the water out that will pour out, then just leave it to dry naturally for several days. You can just sit it on a table with the lid open. Using a fan to blow some cold air may speed up the process but don't use hot air as it may do more damage.
After a couple of days, try replacing the battery and starting up the laptop. There is a good chance that it will be fully functional
The electrics will not be damaged by water. They can dry out naturally and be fully functional. The screen can suffer water damage but even so it can be fully functional once it dries out
