The match is played like a friendly match?
The rivalry is absent.Sehwag and Ryder getting the help of runnners which they may not have asked for OR got against other opposition.
The pitch also proves to be a deterrant.
What is the reason?
1.The nature of pitch
2.Absence of sledging...
3.Has the IPL improved the relations between the players
or any other..?
Four hours the scenario has completely changed.The Q seems to have had an impact on the players and even the pitch.The pitch and the match suddenly alive.

1. There has never been any rivalry :)
2. Dan and team are too bad at sledging
3. IPL, yes, they have all become good friends, wish they had Ishant as another bowler, Bazza could have made use of that =))

The nature of pitch, in the previous matches batsman scores a lot runs in that pitch while both sides struggling to get 30 wicket jointly.
not a good pitch for test cricket need some bounce.

There is no 'history' between the two sides in terms of rivalry which is why its come across as a rather tame test match
