Why isn't Ashwin playing limited overs cricket anymore? Don't you guys miss him ODIs / T20s?
It's so dishearting to see mediocre bowlers like Chahal and Kuldeep getting chances upon chances ahead of him despite leaking too many runs and not able to take wickets and it's been going for a while now, 2 years now if i recally correctly. We badly need him back, we dearly missed him in wc 2019 and now he should get a chance it white ball cricket as he has shown he can not only take wickets in overseas conditions (last aus tour) but also can bat scoring his 5th test century against eng in the recent test series.
@illuminati - makes no sense, bhuvi, shami, kohli, bumrah etc. all play three format and are senior players and ashwin was always economical, couple of bad games and they took him out, kuldeep and chahal have been very ineffective and being takem to cleaners of late as i said before and even when dropped ashwin was a #3 odi bowler and even was #1 for a good amount of time, i don't think kuldeep and chahal have ever been even in top 5 of any format
@anonymous - He knows how to get batsman out in the five-day game, which is much tougher than limited overs cricket. Anyone can do the containment job but someone who knows how take wickets can contain also. He knows both. How can you keep him out? You have to back your best players.

I agree. Personally I think he is still a better limited overs bowler than Chahal and Kuldeep - neither of whom did that well against England.

Look at his stats he is a Test specialist he got dropped from the odi because his wickets were taken at high cost

You seem to be letting hatred rule your realms. Hatred will give you cancer. I pray peace and love to you my brother.

I expect its mostly the rotation policy that all teams seem to follow nowadays.
They dont want to risk their top players getting injuries or burnout from going straight into a white ball series after a Test series so they restrict them to 1 or 2 formats, especially the senior players in their 30s
Ashwin struggled to take wickets the last couple of years he played ODIs so it would be very unlikely they would recall him unless they had a bunch of injuries, India has no shortage of good bowlers, they are ranked highly in all formats and they are dominating in the current series against England.
Look at the stats, Chahal and Kuldeep have far better white ball records than Ashwin.
