Who is He?

He scored an unbeaten double century in a test out of a 500+ total,which they won.

Yet he was dropped in the next test for slow scoring.

Who is he?

Update:

@Kookee,I was thinking of temporarily blocking 2 or 3 English users to keep the Q alive for some more time,but decided against.

Actually his first hundred alone was slow occupying almost a day.Yet he was dropped.

Gillespie was not dropped for slow scoring.

    Geoff Boycott.

    He scored 246 not out vs India at Leeds but was dropped the next game
