College: Vocal Performance or Musical Theatre major?

I love both opera and musical theatre. can do musicals, and I can sing opera. I've only been in 2 operas in my life, and I've been in 4 musicals. What are skills needed for Vocal Performance? What are the advantages/disadvantages of both?

When I was stuck with the same problem I looked at it this way. If I majored in MT, I could never sing opera. If I majored in VP, I could do opera and musicals that require a legit soprano.

If you decide on VP you are going to have language requirements.

    Source(s): VP major.

i did not comprehend what i wanted to do beginning college...i began out as a bio substantial because of the fact of a scholarship I have been given and then i took an into psych classification and enjoyed it! i finished up switching to psychology and criminal justice...it may look creepy yet psychological problems in crimnals fairly interest me...you are able to study lots from human beings like those and could help keep away from destiny offenders. i'm minoring in social artwork because of the fact i think of it may be sensible for the profession i prefer...foresnic psychology.
