Video Playback Problem?

I have a very old Pentium II laptop and it's working fine except for the video playback. All videos seems to run in slow motion, the display moves almost like a slide-show. I don't know what is the source of the problem. I've tried updating the graphic card drivers but that doesn't solve the problem. So, any suggestions?

Sofia, this problem occurs due to less memory, i.e RAM

as with low memory, buffering is slow, due to which the video runs in slow motion.

If u increase the RAM of ur system

then this problem will be resolved.

If u increase the RAM to 512 MB then u will get a very good playback

2 Questions: a million) Which version of Ubuntu are you working? Are you on the latest, 10.04? 2) Are you using 32 or sixty 4 bit? Edit: 10.10 continues to be in Beta, that's the situation. it is beneficial to envision Launchpad to work out if there are any trojan horse comments detailing the situation you're experiencing.
