How bout 1987 with Minnesota Twins playing St. Louis Cardinals.  I know they are both on Mississippi river cities, I just don't know for sure what side of the river they are on.

I believe it was the 1959 World Series played in Los Angeles.  Los Angeles Dodgers against Chicago White Sox.
