How can I file DEFAMATION against a Police Officer and the Media?

I am booked under a fabricated(false) case (in 14 sections). Together, the complainant and the police together have done the damage (by arresting at odd hrs, giving false information to the media etc.) to my reputation in the society.I am totally innocent. Please advice.

At what stage are all these cases now? Has the police filed any charge sheet in the court regarding these offences under which your are booked by them? Unless & until you get a judgment from the relevant court in any of the offences registered against you cannot take any step against any authority for falsely implicating you in any matter. If your matter is still subjudice best is to wait for the final judgment & then proceed if you are found innocent & the court hold that you were wrongly implemented in all these criminal charges by the police authority.

First, you must prove in the criminal court, where you are charged on a foisted case that you are innocent. Get an order vindicating your stand and if possible, get the action of the police officer and the complainant adversely commented upon by the court. Then, it is possible for you to file a suit for defamation. Merely because an officer has arrested on charges will not give you a right to file a suit for defamation. You must establish that the by the act of the accused, you person and name got defamed and as a result you stood to suffer a loss.
