General theory talks about temporal differences and special theory on constancy of light, why is there so much

There is a connection between the Micro and the Macro levels. One is constrained by the constancy of the speed of light when thought engines are created to answer special theory. Why is it that one can only work with the constancy of light and why is there so much confusion about this.?

Update:

Special theory is concerned with the micro and General theory about the macro. Initially general theory was postulated to explain the temporal effects of the macro and later on special theory to explain the effects in the micro and of constancy of light. The thought experiments then began to talk about th effects of space travells where the traveller remained young and earth dwellers growing old while he returns after travelling at the speed of light and all. Is it not that speeding up beyond the speed of sound is difficult for large masses and special theory deals with the effects of speed of light on electrons. Of course the energy releases seems to suggest mass increase, time compression etc;. The electrons attaining the speed of light at the influence of the electro-magnetic field. Is this not the relativistic phenomenon felt in the micro level?

Hi. Our minds have a hard time grasping abstract concepts, for one thing. The speed of light has been measured with greater and greater accuracy and never, not once, has light's speed in a vacuum been measured as "faster" than light. This becomes a standard. The other effects, such as mass increase and time slowing down, are natural side effects of the same theory governing our (present) thoughts.
