  • Smoking after lung deflation? ?

Hey, I had an anterior and posterior spinal fusion 3 weeks ago. I was a regular marijuana smoker before the surgery and I haven’t smoked since. I had one of my lungs deflated and I was just wondering when would I be able to smoke marijuana again? I don’t want to cause any complications with my lung or anything. Thanks in advance.

  • What is the medical machine called that helps you breath? ?

I’m obese and my lungs were badly damaged thanks to to Covid. Lately it’s been getting harder and harder to breath, and even catch my breath. My respiratory doctor doesn’t seem to want to help me too much except prescribe meds like my primary care doctor. I don’t know what the machine is called I need. The one that aids you getting oxygen. You the thing thing with the tube that has the things that go in your noise. I also think a portable one will help possibly regain my ability to walk. I can’t walk without passing out and causing my lungs to stop working. The little function that is left in them.

  • would it be possible to survive 4+ hours a day in an indoor work environment with a mask on?

Not the blue surgical mask, but a more effective N95 or KN95 mask with a good seal around the perimeter.  Wouldn't you suffocate?

So its been a week since I contracted covid. I don't feel weak or fever anymore. But I still don't have my sense of smell and taste yet. I'm really worried because all other symptoms such as malaise, fatigue, muscles and joint pain are all gone. However, i still can't smell or taste anything and im starting to freak out already!!!!! To anyone who experience covid, how long did you have to wait to get your senses back? Thank you!!!

  • Really scared there might be something seriously wrong with my lungs?

I have had asthma all my life. But recently, it has gotten worse. I keep catching bronchitis frequently and have chest pains. I have had an ekg and my heart is perfect. But im worried about the pain because it seems to be coming from the lungs not the heart. What can be going on with me should i ask the doctor for further testing like a ct scan or mri?

  • Should I be worried? Possible covid exposure ?

I went and got my hair done today. I’m 12 days with the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The girl doing my hair was coughing a ton and was very congested. We were both masked but her nose was showing. I asked if she was sick and she said just a small cold and allergies. I’m terrified I’ll get covid now and pass up my daughter who is young and has asthma. :/

  • Surgery made breathing problems worse?

I got a septoplasty and ballon sinuplasty about 3 years ago. I don’t really remember how my breathing was when I first got it done but all I know is I never felt true relief. And 3 years later, my breathing has gotten awful, even after the surgery. My right nostril has airflow, but my nose cartilage is so softened from doing all the work and sucks in when I breathe. There is absolutely zero airflow in or out of my left nostril. I can never take a full deep breathe and I am so over living like this. I’ve been back to the doctor, tried sprays and medications to no avail. They say I cannot do the surgery again. I can’t live the rest of my life not being able to breathe and panicking every time I try to take a breath in my nose. Sleeping is miserable. Has this occurred to anyone else who has gotten surgery? This is taking a bigger toll on my life than I need. I just want to breathe.
