  • Best way to sell textbooks?

I found 3 really expensive college textbooks in a closet that is no longer needed and are no longer used. What is the best way or the quickest way to sell these textbooks? The total cost for the three books would total around $550-$600. They are for general biology, general chemistry, and bioinformatics.

  • How to become a meteorologist?

Would majoring in biology or communication arts be a good start? What are the pre-requisites or courses needed for meteorology?

  • Why have cars phased out the cd player?

As a young person myself, it is a bit disappointing to see many car companies ditching the cd player altogether. One thing that impresses me is the technology that cars today have. The interiors in the new cars look very neat and to some level a bit luxurious even in cars from average brands such as Kia, Honda. The tablet in the middle of the dashboard above the air conditioning vents looks very sophisticated. My question is why couldn't the cd player stay if it is so small. I think most people would rather use Bluetooth to connect their phones to their cars and play the music that way. I also think that many people now listen a lot to SiriusXM and they don't listen as much to CDs the way they used to. But I still think that a CD player could still be a valuable option while at the same time retaining the modern technology in these new vehicles. Seems like Infiniti and Mercedes cars are the few brands that still use the cd player and those are luxury car brands. Coming from a CD music collector in his late teens. I do listen to a lot of 60s & 70s soul music.

How to fix speakers on my radio?

So, I have this $40 Jenson radio cd player given to me as a gift back on Christmas. It is a nice and cute-looking radio that plays very loud almost at boombox levels, the sound is more than room-filling at maximum volume. It is an AM/FM radio with cd player and aux. No Bluetooth but I can connect a Bluetooth receiver into the aux and make it work that way. As for the speakers, sometimes only one works while the other is silent. When that happens, I have to bump the radio a little with my hand, and usually, that gets the other speaker to work as well. With 2 speakers working, the radio works wonders. With just 1 speaker working, it is not as enjoyable. How do I get a permanent fix to this issue?

  • Is it normal for lights to remain intact even when turning on an air conditioner?

So I use a 5,000 BTU window AC unit to cool a small room. The few times that I turned it on not once did the lights go dim. Usually when turning on a vacuum or an air conditioner I see the lights dim for about 1 second and that's it. However, this air conditioner has no effect on the lights and it is a unit from 2005. The make is GE and it uses R22 refrigerant. I am guessing that a 5,000 btu window AC does not use or pull enough electricity to briefly dim the lights.

  • What are the best bluetooth speakers for listening in large halls or outdoors?

I am asking for almost boombox volume levels. I think that the JBL Flip 4 or 5 or a Sony SRS-XB23 is a good start. I have also heard of the JBL Charge models that even include a power bank to charge mobile phones. I want a bluetooth speaker that I can take on bicycle rides. I am thinking of the JBL Charge 4 since the battery life is over 24 hours, has a very loud volume, and the fact that I can recharge my phone. The only thing is that it won't fit on a bottle cage. If I order the JBL Charge 4 any ideas of how I can mount it to my bicycle? Also feel free to give me recommendations!

  • Is it worth getting a flash drive for android phone?

So I recently bought a flash drive for my Pixel 4 phone for $26 from Amazon. I liked it but when I plugged it back onto my phone after transferring files from my phone to laptop, there was an error message and I had to format the flash drive erasing all data to use on my phone. I did back up the data on my laptop which I then transferred to a hard drive. The only reason I got a flash drive with a USB C adapter is so that I can back my music files on it and erase from my phone for more storage. What is the point of using the flash drive if I have to format it every time? Maybe I got a cheap one? What do you guys think? I think I might be returning my flash drive to Amazon. I have 80 GB of music on my 128 GB Pixel 4 and I can back it on a hard drive instead of a portable flash drive. What are some good flash drives?

  • What is HD Radio? How do I get it in my house or car?

So, I hear that HD Radio is a new technology that allows up to 4 HD channels on one station frequency. This potentially offers more music genres than regular non-HD terrestrial radio. I think there are Sangean radios that have HD capability. Are there any Apple, Windows, or Android apps for HD Radio? Also, how do you install an HD radio in a 2016 Infiniti QX60? That car did not come with an HD radio so it is just a regular AM/FM car radio.

  • Is Bergen County NJ more expensive & nicer than Rockland County, NY?

Bergen County, NJ, and Rockland County, NY are right next to each other. One thing I have noticed is that the minute you cross into New York state the homes suddenly look more average compared to the ones on the New Jersey Side. Homes in Old Tappan seem like million-dollar mansions while homes on the other side in Tappan, NY seem like mini-mansions at best with more homes probably in the $500,000-$700,000 range. Also, northern Bergen County is much prettier than the southern part of the county. I also know that Westchester is a very suburban county especially north of Yonkers. I am not so sure about Rockland County but i think that the county has more population compared to northern Bergen County which has somewhat of a more rural feel.

  • Who sang Don't Pull Your Love? Meaning of song lyrics?

It is a happy song to listen to with great horns for the first 10 seconds or so before the singing begins. It sounds like a song from the 60s or early 70s. The group sounds somewhat like a mellow version of The Grass Roots such as the song Sooner Or Later. Both songs are fun and upbeat and sound similar but I don't think The Grass Roots sang Don't Pull Your Love. Don't Pull Your Love sounds like either a fun happy romantic or breakup song but I'm not sure about the song's meaning.

  • What Is A Moody Woman?

So I just heard a song that I really like. It sounds like a groovy 60s tune, kind of a blend of Motown and Philly Soul. The song is called Moody Woman by Jerry Butler. It is a very great song! What exactly is a Moody Woman though? Should I avoid being with those kind of women? By the way, I'm only 17 with an old soul and old taste in music.

  • Does My Dad Need A New Phone?

So my dad has the Samsung S8+ phone. I have the Pixel 4. In his car, he bought a bluetooth receiver which works fine. When I play my audio from my Pixel 4 phone, the bass and sound is loud and clear. It is loud to the point where I have to lower the volume on my phone or car speaker system. However, when my dad connects to the bluetooth receiver to play his audio, the sound is low and he has to have his phone volume on maximum volume and have the car speakers at maximum volume also to get decent sound. Why is that? Is it because my dad's phone is a few years old (April 2017)? If I connect my phone to bluetooth and if I have my phone volume and the car volume both on maximum volume it is super loud sound. I'm not sure why my dad's Samsung Galaxy S8+ plus phone has a low sound when playing through bluetooth. Can you guys help me out here?

  • Why Does Snow Sometimes Struggle To Accumulate On The Road Even At 32 Degrees?

New York City Manhattan resident here. It has been a snowy February. However, other than the big snowstorm at the start of the month, the majority of the snow accumulations have been limited to bridges, car tops, and grassy areas. One day, I noticed that the air temperature was 32 degrees and the snowfall rate was falling between 0.5 to 1.0 inches per hour. That day saw about 8 inches of snow. I did notice that on the roads, the snow was just mainly slushy even though the temperature was at the freezing mark. Why is that? Also, is there a huge difference between 33 and 32 degrees when it comes to accumulating snow? I think that once you drop below 31, 30, or 29 degrees, snow will stick everywhere regardless of the snowfall rate. I have noticed occasionally that snow can accumulate on the streets even when the temperature is as high as 35, 36, or even 40 degrees when the snowfall rate pushed 2 to 3 inches per hour. Honestly, I am a bit jealous of the suburbs of Northern New Jersey and the Catskills that seem to get the most snow and hold on to the white stuff longer. In New York City, after a few days, the snow turns black except in Central Park. I am guessing that the cars driving in the city streets are responsible for making the snow turn black. Also, the fact that Manhattan is not as cold as The Adirondacks. How much snow do the Adirondacks get?

  • What exactly is SACC BTU?

So I have the Whynter ARC 14S which is a dual hosed portable air conditioner. The air conditioner is rated at 14,000 BTU and the power draw is 10.6 amps or 1250 watts. It is located in the master bedroom which is 320 square feet. My entire apartment is under 750 square feet. I would think 14,000 BTU can cool an entire apartment. Well I just found out that my portable air conditioner is rated at 8,900 SACC BTU. Does this mean that the kind of cooling I get is 8,900 BTU even though the unit is rated at 14,000 in Traditional BTU? Generally what is a good SACC BTU rating? I think SACC BTU mainly applies only to portable air conditioners. Also, my air conditioner has an air intake grill behind the unit which causes low pressure in the room. Should I cover it with weatherstripping? So far on the market I heard the highest SACC BTU rating is 10,000 BTU for an LG portable air conditioner rated at 14,000 BTU. I have heard that anything less than 9,000 BTU SACC is not as good. My unit is 8,900 SACC BTU which is just below the threshold by 100 BTU. Not sure if that makes a big difference or not. By the way, it takes a little over 2 hours to get room temperature from 83 degrees to 75 degrees on a hot summer day. Is that too long for an ac to take to cool a 300 square foot room?

  • Great Love Songs from the 1960s and 1970s?

Hello, I am making a Valentine's Day playlist and I would like some suggestions for romantic songs from 2 great decades for music. The 1960s and of course the 1970s. For now, I have added Ready To Take A Chance Again by Barry Manilow, Sexy Eyes by Dr Hook,  and Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) by The Bee Gees. Any other suggestions? What do you think of the songs I chose above?

  • Is 14,000 BTU a big size air conditioner for a 320 square foot room?

In the summer, I use a 14,000 BTU air conditioner to cool down my room. However, it does not cool my place the way I want it to. The room of the ac will cool to 70 degrees or sometimes not cool below 74 on a really hot and humid day (90 degrees and higher with 40% humidity or higher) while the back of the room on average is 3 degrees warmer. So the main room will cool to 70, the back of the main room cools to 73, the nearby bedroom holds steady at 76-77 while the back of my apartment stays at 79-80 degrees. My apartment is 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom so the apartment is about 740 square feet in total. The kitchen easily heats it up by 2-4 degrees in the summer so I'm sure the kitchen is a major heat load other than the warm outdoor temperatures. I'm not so sure about the insulation but I am guessing that the insulation is not the best since the building was completed in the 1890s. So I use one main air conditioner to cool the entire apartment. It is a portable air conditioner rated at 14,000 BTUs and uses 1250 Watts. The problem is that the master bedroom can be too chilly, the other bedroom is a bit warm but not as cool, and then the hallway is pretty much heated from the kitchen and so is the bathroom a bit. So there is no uniform temperature throughout the apartment. It ranges from too cool to too warm. Adding a 2nd air conditioner would certainly help but that would trip the circuit if I run 2 air conditioners at the same time. Maybe I should get another air conditioner?

  • My IP address was likely hacked? Some advice?

I received an email from Best Buy about a week ago saying that the IP address used to order a $1000 laptop was my IP address. One of the tech nerds or perhaps IT people at Best Buy must have looked for information regarding the hacking of my Best Buy account. I'm in New York and someone using a Pennsylvania address hacked into my account and posed as me to order an expensive laptop for themselves. I wish that I would have gotten the laptop. It was a Microsoft Surface Laptop Go that was delivered to Bensalem, PA. I am not sure how this is possible unless my IP address was hacked. I looked at the file sent to me from the company and my public IP address matched exactly to mine when I do a Google Search "what is my IP address?". Looks like I may have to consult an attorney or somehow prove that I am not saying that I purchased something and that I am making a false claim. Another option I have is to dispute the charge. I would appreciate any suggestions. Also, educate me on what an IP address is. I know that websites can only have your public IP but not your private IP address. I did not know that someone can steal your public IP address and pose as a certain individual. I guess you can call this identity theft.

So I have a USB type C to HDMI converter and I also have a 10 foot long hdmi to hdmi cable. It works with my HP laptop using the USB C converter and then plugging in the hdmi to the tv however it will not work with my Pixel 4 phone to connect to the TV even though the plug fits both devices. I want to connect my phone to the tv so that I can stream movies or games from my apps and see it on the tv screen. Give me some idea please? Anyone had success with connecting Pixel 4 phone to tv via HDMI?

  • What exactly can an IP address reveal about you? Is it possible that an IP address can be hacked or stolen?

So I never had an account with Best Buy but it appears that someone may have hacked into my email account to create a Best Buy account with my information. I am also not sure how my credit card information ended up on the account since the hacker was able to purchase a $1000 Microsoft Laptop. Luckily I was able to get a refund. Apparently one of the Best Buy team members told me that the email and IP address matched mine to make the purchase. First of all I never had an account with Best Buy and luckily I was able to create a new password to take control of my new account. By the way, I think only websites have access to the public IP but not private IP addresses on a specific device. I am wondering if it is possible that this hacker may have used or stolen my IP address to try to link the order to me even though I never placed it? How do you protect your IP address?

  • How easy is it to sue a school or a college?

A relative of mine asked me how to sue a school since the student in particular is writing appeals to the school since the student got an unfair grade due to a false accusation of misconduct but now the family is considering to sue the university since the student's appeal letter was denied. Preponderance of the evidence is a much lower standard when compared to beyond a reasonable doubt.
