In the HBO documentary they say that Tiger was always jealous of naturally gifted golf players like Phil Mikkelsen who never had to practice to win tournaments.  Instead Tiger had to practice relentlessly to the point where his health was failing. Is that true?  I always thought Tiger was a natural.

Yesterday we were watching TV when smoke started coming out of a switch plate in the unoccupied back room. I shut off the circuit breaker and found a wirenut on the live side was melted. I removed the wirenut and it was pretty clear that the two wires had been arcing inside the nut- i.e. they weren't twisted together very well. I stripped more of the wire and put in a new wirenut to fix the issue. The switch is only used for switching on and off an LED overhead light so the meltdown had nothing to do with over-heated wires.

The problem is my roommates are now demanding that I do something to prevent that from happening in the future. I explained to them that wirenuts like those were used in every switch and outlet in the house and in almost every house in the world and what happened was just a fluke, but they don't care and want me to find a better solution.I tried to look for statistics on the internet about this kind of thing happening but evidently it is so rare that nobody has ever done a study. Anyway how can I convince these worry warts that it was just a fluke and soldering every wire connection in the house is a bad idea?

I was watching an episode last night on IMDB TV and thought I'd share this joke...

After running into the bank vault to escape a hail of bullets from Ned Zed's machinery gun during a bank robbery, Brisco, Socrates and the bank manager found themselves locked in.

Hearing foot steps outside the vault they assumed it was Brisco's faithful companion, Bowler. Brisco read the vault's combination through the door and you could hear the clicks as the dial was rotated. But after it was finished the door wouldn't open! So Brisco said "let's try it again" and more clicks from the dial. But this time the door opened, revealing Brisco,s horse instead of Bowler.

"Wow!" said the bank manager, "That is one smart horse!".

"Not really" said Brisco, "It took him two tries"

I'd like to see Ivanka vs Tulsi but instead of a debate, have a mud-wrestling contest on CW with Jerry Springer as the ref like real Americans. Sure that sounds a bit sexist, but it guarantees the first female President so even feminists can't complain too much.
