Does the PGA need a response to the Georgia voting laws just like MLB?
Favourite answer:Why? The PGA Tour (nor the PGA of America) have absolutely no role in the Masters Tournament being played next month. That tournament is entirely conducted by Augusta National GC. The problem with Yanks is that they don't know who they should be angry with and surely can't be bothered to find out.
Are you going to protest all the amateur women who will play at Augusta National tomorrow in the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur? Maybe you can get angry at all the kids who will participate in the Drive, Chip and Putt event on Sunday. The PGA Tour holds one event in Georgia (the Tour Championship; it's over Labour Day weekend); the tournament is in Atlanta.Again, the PGA Tour has zero involvement with the Masters Tournament nor does the PGA of America (made up of teaching professionals; they also put on the PGA Championship- it's the group that moved next year's event from Trump National in New Jersey to Southern Hills in Oklahoma). The members at Augusta National Golf Club run it. It's not moving. Sponsors? Back in the early 2000's Martha Burk decided to protest that there were no women members (there are several now) and went after their sponsors. The tournament went commercial free for a couple years.

Are golf instructors a prime example "Those who can't do, teach?"?
Go to any golf course and you can take lessons from a golf instructor.
They are also called "Golf Professionals" and are members of the PGA.
Many are decent amateur golfers, some have played in lower tier pro tours, but don't let their membership fool you, very, very very few if any have actually stepped onto the tee box in a single PGA tour.
Just look at their credentials. There is a local practice facility where I live. And at first glance their credentials look impressive. Jill Briles-Hinton is one, touring pro, 1987-1998, career earnings from tour half a million, former Women's Golf Coach at University of Florida and University of Richmond.
But then you think, how did a local driving range with a par 3 golf course get HER on staff as an instructor?
Because her credentials are actually a dime a dozen. Those career earnings over 11 years is a pittance when you deduct personal expenses.
She never went on to bigger things on the PGA, falling short, and apparently didn't cut it as a college coach because why voluntarily give up a much higher paying job to give lessons to duffers at a practice facility and make 40K a year, tops?
And she is widely regarded as one of the BEST instructors in my area.
Giving lessons at golf courses is where "PGA Professionals" who cant make the cut hit rock bottom. It's where they go for their career to die.
So remember, before you sign up for a golf lesson, you aren't learning from the best. They themselves couldn't do, so they teach.

Have you ever been part of a golfing community?
Favourite answer:Not unless I want to go nuts. Usually, it's a bunch of old fogies who have nothing better to do than ***** and moan with a beer in their hand about how sour their lives have been. They do very little golfing.

Would any of these violate the rules of golf?
Suppose to improve my game, I do the following:
1. I am a novice golfer but I'm quite skilled at billiards. So when my ball is on the green, I lay down on the green and use the shaft of my putter to knock the ball into the hole like a pocket on a pool table.
Technically I still used my putter.
2. If my ball lands behind a tree near the green, I keep an ax in my golf bag for just such an occasion. I chop down the tree, then use a wedge to chip the ball over the stump and onto the green.
Technically, I played the ball from where it landed.
3. On a par 5, I put my ball at the tee, then pull up in the golf cart and stick out my driver, and drive the cart to the edge of the fairway while using my club to take the ball with me.
Then I let the ball roll onto the green.
It might not make a hole in one, but I'll get a lot of double eagles.
And technically, my club face only struck the ball once during the play.

Vintage pictures? ?
My mom found some old pictures that my grandma took of some golfers at a game she attended. They are probably 50 years old. I was wondering how I would know if they were worth anything and where could I go to find out. They are pictures of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.

Is it illegal to drive a golf cart with your eyes closed?
I’ve always wanted to try it at the local country club. I’ve been going my whole life and know the trails really well. I bet my friend $250 I could do it. But could I end up in jail in the process? I’ll go at night so there’s no one else around if that helps, I know I can do it in the dark.

Golf driver goes 200 yards straight then 200 yards to the right? Why ?
Literally. Many times my driver tee shots will start straight and go high and then just take a massive curve to right still high up in the air. When I do it it perfectly I can hit it 300-340 yards straight and booming shots. Of course those make me happy but it’s maybe only 2/10 tee shots. The rest are radical. What could be the cause of this high shot that curves so fair right and I end up playing my ball off of another holes fairway?
I’m Male right handed. 6-4 240 pounds
