  • My 16 month old Shih Tzu?

I have two puppies, they are both about 16 months old. One is Shih Tzu and the other is a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix. We got the Shih Tzu first when he was about 6 months old, we have always had a problem getting him to go outside and play. The only time he will actually play even for a minute is when there is snow on the ground, otherwise he pees and then comes in immediatly, sometimes before he has done everything he needs to do and then will poop in my house.

The other puppy we got when he was almost 1 year old, he was already potty trained and loves going outside for 20 to 30 minutes. How can I get my other puppy to join him. The person we go our second puppy from thought that he would play with the other one outside but does not. We have also tried going down and playing with him on the ground, and once in awhile he will play for a few minutes but then wants to go back in the house. HELP!!...I want him to stop potting in my house and enjoy the fresh weather, what can I do???

  • DUI Probation, caught speeding. What next?

My friends boyfriend was on probation for DUI or DWI...not sure which. He is on driving restriction other then going to and from work until 2009 and is on probation. Recently my friend rented a car in her name, then he used the car to drive to another town. Along the way he was caught speeding. She talked the cop out of arresting him when she went to pick up the car, however his insurance is dropping him, they are having to sell his truck and are concerned now when he goes to court if he will go to jail or have his driving privideges taken away for life.

I would like anyones advice as to how to help them, and if you have seen this situation happen before what happened. She is very worried he will never drive again as they have a daughter together and she is very busy.

  • Cat Food Question?

My kitty is about 8 months old. We have been feeding him Purina Kitten food, we give him food twice a day that equals about 3/4 of a cup or just under. Which is what the bag says to feed him. The problem is he is constantly hungry.

We left for a 10 day trip, my sister checked in on him three times and each time had to refil his bowl which should hold enough for about 4 days. She said each time that it was empty. Then we left Wednesday afternoon to go out of town and put enough food that should have lasted him till Monday and came on Saturday afternoon and it is completely gone and he was STARVING...

My question is should I change his food. Is the stuff we are giving him just not filling enough. He gets very irrate if he is hungry and i am not sure what to do. I had cats when I was a kid but my parents let them be grazers. I don't really want that. PLEASE HELP?

  • Sick Shih Tzu, is there something I can give him till we get to the Vet Monday?

My shih tzu vomited about a week ago. He only did it once and seemed fine. Today I am wondering if he is either still sick or ill again. He was sitting with my husband on the floor, stood up and peed on the floor right next to him. He is mostly pottie trained as he has only had once accident in the house in the last month and that was becuase he was playing with 2 other dogs that are not normally here and so he could not hold it to tell anyone he needed out and that was over a week and half ago. Then my husband took him out this evening almost every 20 to 30 minutes because he acted like he needed to go and did. Then he had a loose stool accident on the kitchen floor.

The last 2 weeks I have been fighting a cold, but no upset stomach or anything of that nature so I am concerned and his vet is not open on the weekends. Is there something I can give him to ease his problem till I can take him. Any help is welcome.

  • 7 month shih tzu potty problems?

We have a 7 month old Shih Tzu, who we got almost 1 1/2 months ago, however as long as we have had him we have been having a problem of pottying in the house. He will go out when DH takes him at 10pm, comes in and goes to bed until 7 or 730 am without going out. Then my husband takes him to the basement with him until noon and he might go out once during that time.

The problem is during that time he is closed in a smaller office with my husband, but when he comes up stairs he is in the living room and we take him out every hour or so and he still pees on the floor. He goes when he is outside too. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get him to go outside all the time and do it all at once. My friends tell me he should be able to hold it for at least 3 hours and he does not wait longer then a hour or so, but it only happens during the day. Thanks

  • 6 month old Shih Tzu problems eating, crating and other?

My husband and I got a 6 month old Shih Tzu. The kennel gave us a bag of his puppy food but he is not eating and drinking very little and will not eat treats. He also won't go in his crate during the day at all, we have to put him in it at night but he will go to sleep. He sleeps most of the day away. And won't be away from my husband or myself for even a few seconds to use the restroom. If you have any suggestions to help with any of these problems it would be wonderful.
