What Can I do to stop negative thoughts?

Lately, I have had many negative thoughts that just drain my energy.   Overall, my life is okay and I'm not sure why my thinking has become very negative.

How can I get rid of negative thoughts that are persistent and seem like they won't go away?

Any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you for answering my questions.

    Talk with a counselor.  https://www.hopefortheheart.org/

"Understanding Yourself" by Mark Prophet and "The Kindness Challenge" are helpful.

When you're in a bad mood, look at the thought that triggered it. See if it's false or otherwise useless. If it is, let it go and replace it with two positive thoughts. Count your blessings, and remind yourself of your past successes. Stop and smell the roses.

Write down the negative thought, write an alternative to the negative thought, write down the evidence to suppodt the alternative.

Example --Neg. thought: I'm stupid.Alternate thought: I'm intelligent.Evidence: Yesterday, I figured out a new app on my phone.Replace neg. thought with a problem in search of a solutionExample --Neg. thought: I'll never have a boyfriend.Problem: I want a boyfriend.Solution: I'll join a dating site, and in the meantime will try to hang out with friends more often.

My advice would be to see a professional therapist. They will work with you and help you with the negative thoughts you are having.

I wish you the very best
