Do some Mothers deserve to be ex-communicated by their family?

The particular woman I'm speaking of is currently in Her 80's and in very ill health, due to a lifetime of gluttonous overeating, and neglecting physical activity. So. She's  now 300 pounds, with lymphedema in both legs, and heart failure. Unfortunately, Her personality isn't much better. She's pushy, rude, and somewhat of a battle axe. Her own daughter has quit speaking to her probably due to many things besides the fact She won't acknowledge that Her   husband molested  her daughter!  Her own Son and daughter in law attempted to kick Her out of their house because She's so awful to live with. Overall, She is a burden, unpleasant, and not a very good Mother.....

Excommunication is a formal legal procedure and, in general, a joke.  Walk away.  I walked out of my parents' house when I was 18, and I have never looked back.  My mother was toxic.  What is your relationship to this person?

Unfortunately we are born into families with imperfect human beings.

Living your whole married life with a child molester is not conducive to happiness.  It is desperate and anxiety inducing to know you live with a criminal whom you have to lie for in order to be supported.

This woman needs a psychiatric intervention.  She sounds clinically depressed.

But do whatever you want.
Some day you may be in your 80's and in her shoes suffering.

Only mothers like mine who alienate their kids from loved ones like my Mom did. My mother used me as a weapon and as a result my mother SUCKED!!! 
  
I have forgiven her but it does not change the fact that she sucked.
