Not one atheist I know is yearning for godliness.

A few are yearning for some sanity among Christians. Some are yearning to go fishing.

And some are yearning for some semblance of civility in the world.

We yearn for truth and evidence.

Their spirits remember God and yearn for him, just as ours do.  They prefer not to think about it.

Many of them recognize that there is something essential missing in their lives. Of course they won't realize that it is God until after they meet Him, which thousands of atheists do every year.

Nope. I'm a 1960s kid. I do think that modern people need more of a link to the earth and nature. I mean-for not having a better word-'spiritual '.

Especially true nowdays when we are destroying our--and other species--world. And Not worrying about "sin"

Source(s): That's as close to any religion that I have. Fills that hole well.

You need to be profoundly superstitious to believe in gods, devils and talking snakes and I don't have a superstitious bone in my entire body

Nope, I got rid of that when I was 20.

Theists have asked if I have a god shaped hole that needs filling?

More like I had the god shaped tumour removed.
