Can loneliness affect how well you do in school?

What I did about my loneliness affected my studies more: going to parties with people I would not call savoy, dating a guy who was verbally abusive and controlling, drinking Schlitz. That stuff kept me from studying and having confidence if I answered a question or wrote a paper.

Thank God, I was able to rethink it on a trip home for holiday.  My friend gave me my strength back.   So back at school, I broke it off with the guy and his posse.  I eventually found my tribe and I was ok when I was alone.

There is a quote by Paul Tillich— “Our language has created the word loneliness to express the pain of being alone, and the word solitude to express the glory of being alone.”

Definitely. It can make you unfocused because you feel emotional. I’ve dealt with this. It’s very hard and complicated to go through.

Yes, that and any mental health issue can and does affect success in any task.

YES, OF COURSE IT CAN. Very much so.
