What is your opinion on having your house’s air ducts cleaned. ?

Is it worth it? Does it really do anything? Have you had it done?

Definitely you should. As I have got it done, cleaning air ducts periodically helps you to maintain the quality of air in side your home. During this pandemic situation, I feel you should take extra care on this issue to keep yourself safe.

It is better to get the things done by professionals. I got it done from LocalRamu expert team. They handled the work very smoothly and also they offer 90-days service guarantee. Their pricing is also very reasonable.

I recommend you to avail LocalRamu services as they really do it very well.

Much depends on how it is done and why it is being done.

Got dust everywhere even with a new filter?

Pets and their hair all over?

Best way to clean ducts is ti remove the blower unit, the squirrel cage, and high pressure clean it (like a car wash pressure).

While it is out, they need to run a flexible water house from the outlet back to the furnace to wash everything out. May require removing the duct work from the plenum(s) and reattach after cleaning.

Primary and secondary heat exchangers should be manually cleaned as well. Pet hair (cats usually) and dryer lint get into the smallest places.

Yes, cleaning *can* be beneficial. But usually the dirt is not much of a problem for most people.

Now what SHOULD be done at least annually is to have a dryer repairman come in, disassemble and clean your clothes dryer, clean the discharge pipe, then put it all together.

Dryer vent fires are high up on the list of reasons why a house catches on fire.

Not only would that reduce fire risk, your clothes dry faster, cost less to dry them, and less lint to dirty your furnace duct work & filter.

So, I had my house's air ducts cleaned, and basically they found out that there was a man living in there. So for me it was worth it. But, that won't be true for most people. But keep it in mind. Just remember this rhyme

air ducts haven't been clean for a while?

man in your house and you're in denial

    Hope this helps :)

You really should have it done periodically. Even with filters, the dust and other debris will build up in the vents and cause your furnace/air conditioner to work much less efficiently. It can also be a fire hazard.

If you have floor vents, crap can drop in and fester, if you have not changed your filters regularly, or had ill fitting filter, damage to the ducts somewhere along the way. Then you might want to get them cleaned. If those things have pretty much been OK, then you shouldn't have any issue.

unless someone in the house has serious allergy issues -- it's not worth doing.  You can take your shopvac to the air returns if you like -- remove the grills and run the shopvac in as far as it'll reach.  That'll clear up any dust that has settled.  the a/c supply ducts should never need cleaning -- the filter catches particles before they get into them.  If removing the grills shows they do need cleaning -- you likely have a leak in the ductwork [a hole] in the attic -- that's where the dust is coming from.  fix the holes before using shopvac as mentioned above.  -- this is a handyman or DIY job, don't pay the a/c service company's high prices.  -- grampa

If they ACTUALLY do it right, it's a good thing but many don't and charge WAY too much

It is very beneficial for the company that is doing it....$$$$$

Unless you have had some major construction in you home, have mold growth, or rodent infestation ... ....you don't need it!As long as you are using a filter for your system ...you are good.
