Higher resistance possibly resulting in more heat and fire risk.

If just loose in the wall, AND your outlet is mounted in a metal box, a good chance of a short circuit, fire, or electrocution.

    Overheating or a fire

check same plug in a different outlet ... you want to discover if it is the plug or the outlet.  both are replaceable.

When you plug other things into the socket are they loose also?

If so you may need to have that outlet replaced...

It's probably not critical now, but if plugs are loose the arcing will start out minutely  and continue to grow from there, where it could become serious.

Bend the prongs of the cord outward some until it fits snugly into the outlet .
