how to cope with rude driving examiners for road test?

today i took my first road test. i thought i was ready. my instructor taught me everything and and i was confident i was gonna ace the test. everything was great until i hopped in the car with the examiner who was a complete jerk! first off he doesn’t even say hello. and bc of COVID obviously we had to wear our masks and i guess mine kept falling down below my nose a little bit and i didn’t notice it and the examiner flipped out and said “put your mask over your nose if i have to ask again we will not do the test” as if i was doing it on purpose. so i start driving and we get to a stop sign and i make a complete stop like i’m supposed to but i forgot to look both ways! so him already not happy over the mask started getting angry with me for not looking right before turning left so that was one screw up! as i was approaching a green light it was one of those lights that change super fast so he told me to turn left at the light so as i’m turning left i didn’t notice the light turned red so all of a sudden he’s flipping out telling me to stop and that the light was red and i was just i. complete shock because i swore it was green so i said “i’m sorry sir i swore the light was green” and he said “no it was buddy it’s clearly red what is wrong with you?” and the light turned green again and people were waving at me to go and i was trying to go and the examiner had his foot on the brake tight (yes he had a brake in the passenger seat) and he was like-

Update:

to those attacking me about the mask issue, it’s not like i was doing it on purpose... i respect people who don’t feel comfortable with this virus going around but i wasn’t doing it on purpose so sorry if hearing that pisses you off too...

Update 2:

btw what i had to say was way too long to put so i put the second part of the question in the answers below

Update 3:

jimanddottaylor first off my mask only fell down once... second it was below my nose and i didn’t even notice it. third i wasn’t even doing it on purpose and i clearly said it if you can read... idk why people answering this are attacking me over the mask issue but you guys are over dramatic...

Update 4:

Anton i’m there for a reason numnuts...

but you guys are over dramatic...

So says the questioner relating their tale of a failed driving test.

    GET OVER IT.

The examiner is not your friend. They have a job to do and DO NOT CARE if you pass or fail.

My elementary aged grandchildren can keep a mask on. SO CAN YOU if you want to.

Book another test. Get some more practise and try again.

When taking a drivers exam remember these two rules.

Rule 1 DO as instructed by the examiner CORRECTLY.

The examiner decides if you pass.

Rule 2 If you are having problems with your test refer back to rule 1.

Now if this person is a complete jerk take it up with their supervisor. You might get a free test but not an easy pass.

Driver examiners and most of the planet are trying to avoid catching the virus.

You have had a YEAR to learn how to wear a mask. If you have trouble with this I suspect you also have issues with your driving abilities too.

    TRY again with less attitude.

I assume you failed the test - but it sounds like you learned a few things you can try to remember for next time.

Get a better mask, or adjust yours to fit better - that way it isn't an issue.  Always look both ways at an intersection, pay close attention to lights (err on the side of caution), and keep in mind that it can be terrifying to ride in a car with an inexperienced driver.

    Good luck!

It's no good ranting against those trying to answer you, no matter how stupid some people will be. We understand that you're upset because you failed the test.

Okay, think about what you did wrong and learn from it. Failing to look both ways at a stop is downright dangerous as is driving through a red. You MUST be aware of what is going on and of other traffic.

Now calm down and do some more practising until you've got it right. Then you'll sail through the test.  All the examiner is after is to see you drive safely and competently. If you do, you'll pass.

Homie don’t listen to these ignorant people. I don’t know why they’re making you feel more bad about yourself after failing your first road test. You may have made really bad mistakes but now you know what you gotta fix for next time. These driving examiners can be ***** but you just have to kiss their a**ses! These people have really important jobs and it’s lame that they gotta make you kids feel like **** and take their own problems out on you but at the same time you need to learn to take criticism. Stay safe out there man you got this!

    You post --

" ... we had to wear our masks and i guess mine kept falling down ...

stop sign and i make a complete stop... forgot to look both ways!...

light turned red so all of a sudden ...."

You are trying to kill the examiner and you say HE is rude?

Learn how to drive BEFORE you go for the driving test.

Your mask kept falling down.  (more than once)

You make a left turn without looking for traffic from the right (his side)

You try to make another left  turn through a red light (again his side was against the oncoming traffic)

Then you wanted to continue the turn when the light turned green, but I will bet there was more traffic coming straight through.

    .

I do not know what other traffic was on the road , but I bet you scared the daylights out of the examiner.

You mention serious mental issues.  (?) Driving might not be your forte.

Sorry to say this, but driving can be stressful. If a stressful situation or a rude comment causes you to panic and make unsafe moves, then you aren't ready to drive.

I don't think the examiner was all that rude. First, wearing your mask wrong and being unaware of it is absolutely not okay, especially since in a confined space like a car he's having to breathe in what you breathed out.

Then you messed up at the stop sign. That could have been a failure-level mistake right there, but he let you continue.

And when you did, you apparently turned on a red. I know, we all see people do that all the time, but not during your road test, when your goal is to do everything perfectly.

What the other drivers want--their honks, stopping to let you go, whatever--is not on the table.

    - “WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CANT GO YET!” meanwhile people were beeping at me to go. so once i finally turned he made me pull over and he failed me. i was perfectly fine with driving until i had to hop in the car with that complete tool. how do these people expect us to be good drivers and feel comfortable behind the wheel when they’re gonna make us feel u comfortable and nervous? why do they think they’re perfect and treat us like garbage when we’re just kids? i know i’m not perfect but it’s not cool. and with someone with horrible mental health issues i’m afraid i’m not going to pass again because i can’t drive right with rude people as my driving examiner. if i get another rude person for my next test how should i cope with then and not let my nerves get the best of me where it’ll mess me up and not let the person get in my head?
