Why doesn't my sleeping bag keep me warm at night ?

just for the fun of it I slept outside with my sleeping bag. I felt like I was freezing, I had to give up and go inside.  I bought a $100 sleeping bag thinking it would keep me warm but it is not what am I doing wrong.  Do I need to use two sleeping bags.

And the next time look at the specs on the sleeping bag. Price has nothing to do with how warm it will be, but the material its made of is more important.

Price doesn’t give a guarantee of warmth.

Depends on the 'rating' of your sleeping bag, and the temperate you were sleeping out in.

Not all sleeping bags have the same temperature rating. It was probably somewhat below the rating of your bag.

You don't buy a sleeping bag by price, you buy it by rated temperature. You probably have a summer bag. There ARE sleeping bags that keep climbers warm on Mt. Everest. They don't cost $100 though.
