Is my harmonic balancer bad?
2005 dodge grand caravan. Harmonic balancer wobbles. Please look at the picture and tell me what you think

I finally got around to replacing it. Here's a before and after photo before I put the new one on the van. The old one does look like the rubber is uneven and the squealing noise is gone with the new one.

That is not a harmonic balancer. That is just a pulley wheel.

Considering that Dayco, ATP and Ultra make replacement pullies for your vehicle, I would say it is probably a common issue having a defective harmonic balancer.

I told you last time that harmonic balancers can separate. replace it if it wobbles.

Can not tell from the still picture but likely it is either loose of bent. If it is loose, just tighten it. If it is bent, it may be Ok or it may need replacement. Have no specs on how perfect it has to be
