So they can hound you for the rest of your life for more donations.  (example:  a friend died 15 years ago - family requested donations to a favorite charity in lieu of flowers - I sent a donation - since then I've moved 1500 miles away but they still send regular mail and email solicitations, spending more to hound me than the original donation. Screw 'em)

So they can tap you again. Rather a sickening trait, but it goes on all the time

I get a letter almost daily from a charity organization and I am tired of getting them, so I dump them in the trash without opening any of them.

They are required to by the IRS and local entities. 

So that they can write to you, regularly, asking for more donations.

I always refuse to give them any info at all.
