Do travel agent jobs still exist? And if so can I get a job as one with an associates degree?
I’ve been told that the job doesn’t really exist as much as it used to because people just organize their trips themselves. But I wasn’t sure.

There are still a few travel agents, mostly companies organizing expensive tours, not general travel. Travel agent jobs have been on the decline since the 1990s! Technologically obsolete for decades now. Even if you get specific travel agent training, etc, don't expect you'll find a job.

Yes, travel agents still exist. Yes, people (especially businesses) still use them. You don't need a degree to become one, you just need to be able to use their software.

They still exist but are much less common than before. Visit one and find out what kind of work they do.

They still exist but your associates means almost nothing in getting a job as one and its probably a shrinking field hard to get a job even if you had experience.

I remember a time when you couldn't even buy a plane ticket without going through a travel agent. There were travel agent offices everywhere.
Most travel agent jobs are gone. There are still a few that fill niches for specialty travel or travel packages (like a coordinated three week tour of Africa or something like that).
And with Covid, the travel industry has been hammered. Planes, cruises...people just aren't doing that very much.
While I can't say for sure, I'm guessing travel agent jobs are not salaried or hourly. They are probably either self-employed or paid on commission.
