Good car to buy?

Is it worth to buy a car that has 295,000km? Its an Acura Rsx, minimal rust and well maintained.

That's about 183,000 miles. It would only be worth it if you got a great deal. I personally wouldn't buy a used car with more than 100K.

TOYOTAS are some of the BEST cars ever made! They had NO COMPROMISE engineering and can last EAILY to 500,000 miles if RUST is kept away from the BOTTOMS! The ONLY BAD ONE was the YARIS! The ENGINES are UNREAL for longevity and seem to NEVER WEAR OUT and same for the AISN WARNER trannies, a joint effort from AISIN of JAPAN and WARNER of Sweden! >>>THE USE of PENNZOIL ULTRA EURO or ULTRA PLATINUM will get you a WARRANTY out to 500,000 miles! It KEEPS the engines CLEAN by NOT using CRUDE OIL and by using NATURAL GAS!>>>OILS today are FORMULATED for EACH country and EACH car make! AUDI needs 502/505 oil! BENZ needs 229.03/229.05 oil ONLY!  and GM needs DEXOS or BETTER full synthetic oil as well! TOTAL ENERGY OIL has THREE different oils with the SAME exact viscosity ratings! One is for EURO engines, ONE is for AMERICAN engines, and the THIRD is for ASIAN engines! >>AMSOIL does the SAME THING! >>>ANYWAYS! Go to the TOYOTA DEALERSHIP and have ALL the fluids CHANGED! I BET your BRAKE FLUID is very dark brown by now! IT is NOW TOXIC and can RUIN pricey brake parts! IT lasts for only about # YEARS and then becomes liquid sandpaper and CORROSION. CHANGE the COOLANT and the STEERING FLUID and ALSO the TRANS FLUID filter and gasket! Get READY for ANOTHER 100,000 miles! >>>CHECK the STEERING and SUSPENION< BALL JOINTS and TIE ROD ends for REAL! I darn near lost my BENZ i due to a failed BALL JOINT< and RIGHT after it was ALIGNED! They did NOT check them properly! >>WHO can you TRUST?>>>CHECK for RUST on the SUBFRAME and for LEAKS at any OIL CHANGE CENTER!  I TRUST TOYOTA engines COMPLETELY. In consumer reports they ALWAYS got RED BALLS of approval for EACH car SYSTEM on don the LINE! GM always did the WORST! >>295,000 KM is about 230,000 miles! There is LOTS of life left in there! Get a MOTOR DE SLUDGE done! I use a mixture of AMSOIL POWER FOAM and GUNK orange original engien cleaner to get it done the RIGHT WAY! AMSOIL dissolves SLUDGE and TAR on o contact as does SIMPLE GREEN. You can DRIVE on the mix for about an HOUR and it will come out as DARK TAR< having removed the COATINGS in the OIL PAN , the VALVE COVERS< a the FRONT COVER, and all the SEALS and GASKETS restoring them to NEW showroom conditions! Use S DENSO TWIN TIP IRIDIUM LASER plugs to get the MOST from it! IF it is a TRUBO ENGINE have the TURBO FEED and RETURN lines CLEANED UP using the AMSOIL POWER FOAM! >>GO FOR IT if it passes INSPECTIONS! Check the BUCHINGS as well! BYE NOW!

If the car is less than 1000 dollars   then buy it . If not don't even bother. The transmission and the motor could fail at any time when buying from a private seller there is no guarantee.

In my view, these cars may be good to 300,000 miles or more depending on how they've been maintained.

Yes and no. What are the pros and cons? Get friends approval. Where does it come from?

Too many miles. Don't buy a car with more than 150,000 miles unless it is a Honda or Toyota.

If all of the costly 250,000 mile maintenance has been done, it should be ok.

It needs to be really cheap, and note parts can fail regularly on a car that driven.
