Were you born in the old or new millennium?

The old millennium (1000’s millennia) contains the years 1000 to 1999.

    L. E. Grant is correct. The current millennium, as reckoned by fixed intervals of 1,000 years starting with the traditional birth of Christ, began January 1, 2001.

I was born in the prior millennium.

You do know that different calendars mark very different years, don't you? Try a Jewish or Chinese calendar and see what happens.

    Born in the old millennium.

Nope: the millennia since the birth of Christ are 1 to 1000, 1001 to 2000 and 2001 to 3000

A millennium does have 1000 years, but there was no "0 A.D."

Oh, and yes, I was born within the last 1000 years, so we're born in the same millennium....
