Don't you think it's a little rude that my supervisor said all that?
So I was the only one on the register and a customer orders some drinks. Next thing you know more customers come in while I have to make the previous customers' drinks.
I shout out to the back "Hey, can someone please help me on the register" My supervisor shouts back, "You only have three people in line" then I shout to him, "Yes, but I have to make two drinks and i'm the only one on the register"
Then he comes running out and the first thing he does is run up to me and say "Listen, That's not what you're supposed to do. Customers always come first, you take the customers and tell me to make the drink"
Which I don't see how that makes a difference, either way the customer is going to be helped. I feel like he just wanted to make the drinks and not deal with anyone.
You guys are a bunch of suck ups, all of you. This is the same supervisor that laughed along as my other coworkers berated and made fun of me and you guys expect me to just deal with it.

Does the rule of take 2 orders, make 2 orders apply there? Because that's what I would have done. It sounds like you've got one of those managers who doesn't pay attention to what's going on and then gets pissy when he's caught not doing his job. If he isn't willing to help out or send anyone to help you, just take the orders and then make their drinks in the order that they were placed. They'll see that you're the only one working and if they do the little survey thing on the receipt to complain, it'll be the manager in charge on that shift who has to answer for it, not you.

It's especially helpful if someone makes the drinks while you take the orders. Someone makes the food too while the wait staff takes the orders. If there are at least three patrons in line it would slow things down if you have them waiting while you make drinks for the first patron in line when someone else could be doing it.

You seem to think that you and your "supervisor" are on the same level. Wake up! You work for him. Not the other way around. Further, I found how you handled it was rude, not your supervisor. His name was not "hey" was it? And shouting - most unprofessional. How long does it take to make two drinks? 10 minutes? I don't think so.

The difference is that the customer gets to give their order immediately and doesn't have to wait for him.

Customers come first so your supervisor wasn't rude at all. 3 people are more then manageable when you're trying to multi task. You do what your supervisor says to, weather you think they're rude or not at least they were willing to help you out with the drinks which I think isn't rude at all. At least they didn't leave you standing there to deal with drinks and customers. You're there to deal with the customers. Your supervisor's job is to make sure you're doing your job and doing it to their standards.

"I feel like he just wanted to make the drinks and not deal with anyone." He's paying YOU to deal with them.
You don't get to pick/choose the things you want to do and then tell your boss to pick up the slack.

It doesn't matter whether you like the policy or not. You follow it. He's the supervisor, he tells you what you should be doing, not vice-versa.
He was not at all rude.
