Do you think that Iran will see Trump cancelling airstrikes right a the last minute as an act of benevolence and deescalation or?

the President getting cold feet at the last minute when it comes to taking hard action.

Do you think this will discourage or encourage further hostile Iranian action?

There are some Iranian soldiers who are doing a lot of thinking today. The officer who orders the next missile to be fired at a USA drone may be shot by his own troops.

    I think it was a lose/lose.

They will think the lack of killing 150 people as weak.

Had they killed 150, Iran would have petitioned the UN to invade the USA over the killing.

No. I think they will see it as weakness

Pulling out of the nuclear treaty, increased sanctions, and continuing to empower the Saudis have been what has encourage hostile Iranian actions thus far.

The Global Hawk the Iranians shot down has a 60,000 ft ceiling, I would not put it past some of the people in our government do dangle the drone very near or slightly over their border just to get them to shot it down to cause an incident. Additionally, no prove has been provided to the American people that the Iranians are directly responsible for the tanker damage. Given the number of time that Trump lies in a single day and the US history of using lies to enter into the Vietnam and Iraqi wars, would not be surprised if this was all a false flag.

Regardless, even if the Iranians were totally responsible, there was no lost of life and killing approximately 150 low-level Iranians just doing their job is not the appropriate response. It is likely the bombing then would have caused further escalation on their part and killing their people would have been enough for their government to justify it.

Yah bruh, Trump should have started a full on trillion dollar war. With millions of casualties. Call Trump and give him your advice on how to deal with Iran.

Trump has undone yrs. of diplomacy f/ previous admins who tried to normalize relations w/ Iran. He has unnecessarily meddled where none was needed escalating hostilities/suspicions and alienating allies by reneging on the Iran deal.

It's not my call to opine what Iran thinks as it wouldn't matter anyway. In other words, I have no idea what Iran thinks. Whatever you think is fine w/ me and my answer to that.

It shows Trump as the " cool head " , if Iran continues to escalate tensions it will be hard to be sympathetic to the Iranians

Trump said "I want to make Iran great again" so there is no telling what will happen.
