Kalamani Ms.Narthaki Natrajan ,is the Transwoman,who was awarded with prestegious award of India.It was
given by President of India. She has been one of the best exponent of Bharatnatyam Dance.Her stoic courage and steadfast determination in the face of societal hurdles as a member of the third gender have translated as inspiring performances that move audiences with their expressive reach.
It is no understatement to say that her artistry derives directly from her nurturing of her feminine voice that so evocatively speaks the language of Bharatanatyam.At this time, special mention must be made of tehmost recent “Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar 2011” conferred on her for her expertise in Bharatanatyam.
