Should Steffi Graf have ever been considered the greatest of all-time since she won 11 majors after Monica Seles got stabbed in 1993?

Monica would have been the best 8 majors before her 18th birthday sad.... She was truely the greatest. She could have won 25-30 majors if healthy.

Would she still have won that many Grand Slams if Seles was not attacked ? All that is just speculation. We can speculate all we want but bottom line is: she won total 22 Grand Slams.

She did have other competitors besides Seles correct ? Gabriela Sabatini, Arancha Sanchez , Martina Hingis.

Don't write Graf off so quickly. Once the top player is out of the picture, the #2, 3 and 4's are right behind them fighting for the Grand Slams.

No one will take a day off. They will consider that an opportunity to move up.

I think #2, 3 and 4's are just as good as the #1 player. I think maybe in the high pressured matches and during pressure points, the top player has a mental edge. They are mentally stronger.

But talent wise, all the Top 10 players are equal - seems that way.

Whatever the case is, I still give PROPS to Steffi Graf for winning 22 Grand Slams. She is one of the greatest.

Let's not take the title away from her. She did not ATTACK Seles. Some crazy lunatic did.

Graff was good, but Seles had the edge in H2H matches.. They would be similar to Fed-Nadal, with Fed having many more titles with Nadal having large advantage in H2H matches.. But with Seles around, Graff would have at least 10 Majors less, which excludes her from all-time greats.. Serena is much better than Graff, for example..

There's no such thing as greatest in any sport. Anyway, competitor can only be as good as the person they bested, so it does them no credit to be considered greatest really. I don't know why you mentioned Seles getting stabbed. That's not cool.

It's not her fault a fan went crazy and attacked Seles, so don't hold that against her.
