What is the point of a wedding hashtag?

Hashtags have no point, other than to be bothersome. They'll tell you however, that couples want guests to use their hashtag so that they can collect any candid moments captured at their wedding.

Rather than to tag the specific couple in a photo on Facebook or Instagram, someone could use the hashtag #GreeneWedding, and the couple, or any other interested party, could look it up.

Same point as any hashtag: to communicate specific information by Twitter to anyone interested.
