Grammar question. Can anyone distinguish adjunct and compliment with some examples?

    The difference is slight and seems to be hair-splitting.

    It seems that an adjunct changes the meaning of the word or words; a complement (NOT compliment) completes the meaning of the sentence.

    adjunct: a word or phrase used to amplify or modify the meaning of another word or words in a sentence.

    complement: a word or group of words added to a sentence to make it complete.
