Why do Jehovah's Witnesses travel in fours? They pull up in a car, one of them comes up to the door, the other three stay in the car.?

Update:

I do live in a low crime, rural area. The JWs don't need to travel in groups for security, and the homes are so spread out that I wouldn't think anyone would need a rest

    I'm one of Jehovah's Witnessess.

Here in the city (I live in Paris, France) we don't usually travel by car at all - parking is a nightmare in the city. We usually work in pairs for security and encouragement but if you do have a car group it makes sense to fill the car and ride by four or five. That way you can stay together without having to wait on another car and save on petrol (gas for our American friends).

No one wants four people turning up at their door, they'll feel intimidated, so even if they travel together it's best to let one or (more usually) two actually go to speak to the householder.

    Hope the helps

They travel in whatever group numbers they want to. Some go alone. They go in twos as well as 3, 4, 5. 6. Usually we get less tired when we share the car. Plus safety comes in numbers. We use common sense as well. Why would you ask that?

Depends on the territory. It sounds like you live in a rural area, where they drive between the homes. In the city, a car group, usually 4 which comfortably fits into a sedan, we will go into an area and go to the doors in pairs.

  • To cut petrol, or gas or gazole ( depending on where one lives), down. So for economy reasons.

How come atheists are rarely seen with their parents?
